Five high-profile Manchester United players; Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, have formally informed the club of their desire to leave this summer, according to respected football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
In response, Manchester United have reportedly delayed the return date for these players to pre-season training until later in July to give all parties time to “explore solutions further,” fueling speculations of a major squad overhaul under manager Rúben Amorim.
This was confirmed by renowned sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano on Friday.
He wrote, “Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho have all informed Manchester United they wish to leave. Man Utd have delayed their return date until later in July to allow them time to explore solutions further.”
Among the group, Rashford’s potential departure stands out. A product of the club’s academy and a long-time face of United’s attacking line, the England international has now handed over his iconic No. 10 shirt to new arrival Matheus Cunha, signalling a new chapter.
Sancho, who spent part of last season on loan at Chelsea, has struggled to cement a long-term role at Old Trafford and is now reportedly seeking a permanent exit.
Garnacho, a rising star with a promising future, is also seeking greener pastures after limited game time.
Antony, who impressed during his loan spell at Real Betis, and Malacia, who has faced injury setbacks and a stint with PSV Eindhoven, are likewise eager to restart their careers elsewhere.
United’s management is said to be open to offloading multiple players as part of efforts to raise funds for new signings and reduce the wage bill.
