The Anambra State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the kidnapping and killing of a pig farmer in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
The victim who the police identified as Ozor Chido by the police was allegedly abducted by some masked hoodlums on the morning of June 19, 2025, at his pig farm in Nimo and his lifeless body was dumped near the same farm on June 23.
In a statement released on Sunday, the spokesman for the state police, Tochukwu Ikenga, said police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu, arrested the suspects on Saturday, after an investigation.
Ikenga said the police operatives shall proceed to the next line of action after processing the information as directed by the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu.
He said, “Police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu on 28th June 2025, arrested 10 suspects over an ongoing investigation of a recovered lifeless body of an alleged kidnapped victim near a piggery farm at Nimo on June 23, 2025.
“While the suspects are still undergoing interrogation over the incident, the operatives are ready to proceed to the next line of action after processing the information as directed by CP Ikioye Orutugu, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command.
