The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senatorial Candidate for Anambra South, Barr Donald Amamgbo, has condemned in strong terms the unwarranted assault on Miss Jennifer Elobor, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State.
Barr Amamgbo described the incident as inhuman and unacceptable, stressing that it once again exposes the flaws and decay within the security architecture of the state. He maintained that no nation aspiring for progress should tolerate the dehumanization of its youths, especially those sacrificing to serve their fatherland.
He emphasized the urgent need for a total rejigging of the state’s security system to restore public trust and confidence. According to him, security agencies must be manned by well-trained personnel with proper orientation on human rights, professionalism, and modern security ethics.
Amamgbo insisted that those behind the act, though already arrested, but must face justice as a precedence against future violations. He further called for continuous training and retraining of security operatives to ensure that such abuse of power does not recur.
While expressing solidarity with Miss Elobor and her family, Amamgbo assured Ndi Anambra South that he remains committed to championing discussions that will prioritize the protection of lives, dignity, and rights of every citizen, noting that leadership is not restricted to public office holders, but for every other person who is committed to ensuring the birthing of a better society.
