Isak Willing to Join Liverpool Amid Newcastle’s Search for New Forward

Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak has communicated his intention to explore a move away from Newcastle United this summer, as the club begins reassessing its striking options in the transfer market.

According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Thursday via X, Liverpool remain interested in signing the Swedish international despite already securing the services of Hugo Ekitike.

However, any potential move for Isak will depend on several factors, notably the willingness of Newcastle to allow his exit and the possible departure of Luis Díaz from Anfield.

“Understand Alexander Isak remains a target for Liverpool even after signing Ekitike… but depends on Newcastle.

“If Newcastle open doors to an exit and #LFC sell Diaz, they can bid after direct contact made 10 days ago,” Romano reported.

While Saudi Arabian club, Al Hilal, has been linked with multiple European stars in recent weeks, Romano clarified that Isak “is not in concrete talks with Al Hilal so far.”

The 25-year-old forward has informed Newcastle of his desire to consider new opportunities this summer.

The club is said to be aware of the player’s position and is now weighing its next steps.

Newcastle has already “re-started exploring a move for a top striker in the market,” Romano added, aligning with reports from Craig Hope of the Daily Mail.

This indicates the club is preparing for the possibility of Isak’s departure, although no final decision has been made.

Isak joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 and quickly became a key figure at St. James’ Park. His potential exit would mark a significant shift for Eddie Howe’s side as they look to balance squad evolution with competitive ambitions.
