The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Chris Najomo, has directed Air Peace to promptly enhance its domestic operations following numerous public complaints about frequent flight delays and cancellations.

In a statement signed by the NCAA on Friday, Najomo strongly advised the airline to trim its operations to the size of available aircraft presently in its fleet to mitigate the crisis.

The statement reads, “The DGCA, Capt. Chris Najomo has told Air Peace to immediately improve its domestic operations owing to complaints of chronic flight delays and cancellations by the travelling public.”

The DGCA issued the directive on Friday during a tense meeting with members of the management team of Nigeria’s largest domestic airline in Abuja.

During the meeting, the airline’s representatives admitted to facing certain challenges common within the industry but assured that efforts were ongoing around the clock to resolve them.

The DGCA emphasised that while the NCAA remains committed to supporting airlines, operators must adhere to regulatory standards and global best practices.
