Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has revealed his reasons for not supporting Peter Obi of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential race.

During a media interaction in Abuja, Wike dismissed Obi’s chances, labeling him a “social media candidate.” He stated, “No, he has no chance to win election. I don’t do social media candidate.” The former Rivers State governor explained that his political calculations focus on candidates with genuine prospects.

“In politics, it’s not always the right that oh, this is the best candidate. No, no, no,” Wike remarked, noting that several factors influence election outcomes beyond mere online popularity.

He also discussed the difficulties Tinubu faced, including controversial policies and public discontent, yet praised Tinubu’s resilience. “But everything was done and he survived. He survived it,” Wike said, attributing Tinubu’s success to experience and strategy.
