The Enugu State Government has unveiled a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, aimed at enhancing security and surveillance across the city. The centre is equipped with high-tech surveillance cameras strategically installed throughout Enugu metropolis and is supported by a Distress Response Squad comprising over 150 patrol vehicles.
With this development, Enugu City is poised to become the most secured urban area in Nigeria.
However, questions remain among residents: Will this initiative extend to the towns and villages surrounding the city? When will the centre officially commence full operations, especially as crime rates within the city continue to rise?
While the Command and Control Centre represents a significant step toward improved security, citizens are hopeful that it will address the persistent safety challenges across the state and not be limited to urban areas alone.
